Obituary
BADRAUN, Carolyn Anne Thomas Kirby, 76, of Chiefland, Florida, passed into the loving arms of her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ on February 15, 2023. She was born in Roanoke, Virginia on August 16, 1946, to Robert Wilson Thomas and Betty L. Carr. She was the firstborn, dearly loved child and grandchild of the Thomas family. After her fathers early death at 33, the family moved to Richmond to be near her mothers family. Her mother remarried and Tom Kirby adopted the children giving them his last name. In Richmond she graduated from Huguenot High School, class of 64. Carolyn had a great sense of humor and she loved to laugh. Some said she was generous to a fault. Her homes were always immaculate and decorated with a Southwesten Indian motif she admired during her travels. She was spirited, talented, smart and unique, fiercely independent and courageous. She had a love of music, dancing and art. Employed with many companies through the years, Carolyn excelled in every position. She was everything USA and supported our troops with a passion. Carolyn was predeceased by her mother and father, her adoptive father Thomas E. Kirby, Jr., her childrens father, M. Reid Granger, Jr., and her husband Wade Badraun. She is survived by her partner of nearly 30 years, Wallace Banton; her children, Stephen Brett Granger (Therese), Kimberly Granger Ireland (Mark); her grandchildren, Bryan, Cassie, Geoffrey, Justin and Cameron Granger; her grandchildrens mothers Vicki Clark-Granger and Linda L. Granger, and her great grandchildren Caiden and Chloe, Bentley and Diliylia Granger; her sisters, Nancy Schenk (Bob), Robin Nooney, and Susan Warwick (Bill); her nieces and nephew, Kathy, Brian and Emily and their families and many cousins and friends. Carolyn was a born again believer in Jesus Christ and she put her full faith and trust in Him. At her request there will be no services but she would wish for you to come to a saving faith in Jesus Christ, and to love one another as He loves you. Arrangements are under the care of Knauff Funeral Home in Chiefland.

Mom,<br> I am thankful to have had you involved in my life growing up in a split home. I know that wasnt easy. I recall our fondest days of dancing and trying to sing to old rock-n-roll songs. I know we did not always agree, but we did agree on things that were important. Im glad you found your faith before it was too late. There are many who claim to follow Gods teachings but very few ever do. I am blessed to a have wife who does follow His teachings and makes me a better person because of it. I speak from the heart here and just know you will be missed. I am thankful God called you home soon and you decided not to undergo a long treatment plan that wouldve certainly brought a quality of life less desirable. Its like ripping off the bandaid and now your life is filled with peace and youre pain free! You will always be loved and missed.<br>Love,Brett
