Obituary

Glen M. Ervin, also known as Dad, Papaw, Grandpa, and Pop, 81, completed his final tractor pull on Thursday, January 26th, 2023 at Shands Kanapaha ER in Gainesville, Florida. He was a longtime resident of Morriston, Florida, previously residing in Modoc, Indiana. Glen was born July 11, 1941 in Ballplay, Tennessee to James Ervin and Mildred Belcher. His greatest accomplishment in life was his family; they were his heart and soul. Quick to make friends, witty and full of life, he leaves a void that will never be filled and a contagious smile that will never be forgotten. He was an avid tractor puller at local and national events. Glen loved to cheer on his grandchildren and great-grandchildren playing sports, watching Gator football and rooting for the Williston High School boys basketball team. A self-made man, there was nothing he could not figure out and repair. He worked as a farmer, trucker, and finally a business owner along with his family in Morriston, Florida. He is preceded in death by his grandson Monty Ervin, his parents James Ervin and Mildren Belcher, and brothers Wesley Belcher and RV Ervin. Glen is survived by his love of a lifetime, Lisa Sampson Morriston, Florida, his sons, Glen Ervin, Jr. (Lisa) Williston, Florida and Jim Ervin (Lisa) Dunnellon, Florida, his daughter, Kimberly Foley (Clint) Dunnellon, Florida, and his stepchildren, Nathan OSteen (Kellie) Gainesville, Florida and Magen Albury (Garrett) Morriston, Florida, his surviving siblings, brother Joe Belcher (Anita), and sisters, Shirley Dawson (Jerry) and Charlotte Jackson (Dave), along with numerous nephews and nieces. As a grandfather he leaves behind, Chad Ervin (Sam), Whitney Andrews, Johnny Ervin (Delaney), Chelsea Ervin (Mason), Ivana Edwards (Jeremy), Hannah Bailey (Mitchell), Melaina Beach, Michael Beach (Sarah), Dalton Beach (Megan), Madison Ervin, Carlie Foley and John Foley, his great-grandchildren, Maleigh, Aberee, Peyton, Harper, Emma, Everett, Elsie, Theodore, Avery, Memphis, and Maelyn. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later time.

Papaw, thanks for the never ending grins, and I am so glad we talked hours before you were called home. My heart hurts, and I know you were always so concerned about everyone else, rather than yourself but we werent ready. Forgive us for being sad, we just love you and miss you so much. I know how proud you were of ivana and I, I hope you continue to watch over us and smile.

Love and miss you dad. Say hello to Monty and squeeze him hard for me! We sure have a big void in our family, but we hope you are proud of us. Clint and the kids are my rock and they loved you too! Dont tease the angles too much. Love you!

Prayers and hugs to all the family! He came into the office one day and he had us all laughing. He was thinking about building a new house. Then after talking I realized who he was and I said my daughter is Megan, ( Daltons girlfriend) His face lit up with a big smile and said Dalton, thats my grandson. He was very proud of his family.
