Obituary
Claude Bowens of Old Town, Florida passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Friday, December 9, 2022. He was 79 years old. Claude was born March 24th, 1943 in Wells, Kentucky to the late Ruby and Luther Bowens. Claude was a very talented artist, painting and drawing that started at the age of 3. He had many passions in life which included photography, taking cruises, spending time with family & friends, volunteering at his church and doing community projects. He also served in the Army as an MP in Germany. He is survived by his wife, Carol of 52 years, four beautiful daughters Kathy (George), Lisa (Doug), Claudia (Rick), Sharon (Keith) along with 11 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren and looking forward to adding 2 more in the near future. He is also survived by many nieces nephews and cousins. Besides his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters; Kathy, Rose, and Marie. Brothers; Miles, Henry, Clarence and his identical twin brother Clyde. A funeral service will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Saint John Evangelist Catholic Church in Chiefland, Florida with a visitation held one hour prior. Arrangements are under the care and direction of Knauff Funeral Home in Chiefland, Florida. Claude was always a great man as kids he always was so friendly welcoming tons of us kids in and out of their home .. I remember all his paintings and I loved getting on fb and looking at all his memories and. His talking about the love of his family and Christ I will miss him he was an amazing second dad when I was young

I`ve known Claude since childhood , from Slagle , WV. We`ve also been friends on FB . In all the years I`ve know Claude I have never heard him say a negative thing about anyone ! He has always had a positive attitude . I will miss his posts and seeing his beautiful paintings. Many prayers to his family and friends!
