Edward Levitzke

Edward “Eddie” Levitzke, 72, of Chiefland, Florida, passed away on March 5, 2026. Born in Chicago, Illinois, Eddie lived a life defined by hard work, dedication, and a deep love for the people around him.

Eddie spent much of his career in service to his community, retiring as a Chief of Police. Throughout his life, he was also known for his skill as a mechanic and his ability to fix just about anything. Whether it was an engine that wouldn't turn over or a project that needed a steady hand, Eddie was always ready to get to work. He had a natural curiosity and a love for collecting all kinds of things, often finding value and stories where others might not look. Many of his happiest moments were spent tinkering in the garage, working on cars, and sharing those passions with others.

Above all else, Eddie valued family and the connections he built throughout his life. He is survived by several loved ones who will carry forward the memories of his humor, determination, and the quiet ways he showed he cared.

He was preceded in death by his beloved daughter, Shelbie; his father, Clayton; and his mother, Margaret.

A celebration of Eddie's life will be held at a later date and will be announced when arrangements are finalized.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Haven Hospice in Eddie's memory.
