Sam Ellis

Sam Lee Ellis, resident of Stuart, Florida passed away on Wednesday, September 21, 2022. He was 92 years old. Sam was born on August 14, 1930 in Miami, Florida to his parents, William Ellis and Vela Parker, where he grew up. He was an athlete and went on to graduate from University of Miami. He was married to his first wife Beverly for 52 years. He was an Army veteran who served in the Korean War. His hobbies were boating, fishing, and lots of yard work. Sam was a kind and generous man, the friends he made along the way were lifelong friends. He is survived by his wife, Bonnie Ellis, son, Steven (Margot)Ellis as well as several grandchildren, Billy (Kristina)Ellis, Daniel Ellis, Jamie (Brittany) Ellis along with, Emily Ellis (Dante) Richardson. Great grandchildren, Aria, Brielle, Piper, and Robin. He is preceded in death by his first wife Beverly and sons, Glenn Ellis and Bill Ellis. He is loved and will be dearly missed by family and friends. ATTENTION!!! DUE TO HURRICANE IAN, SERVICES HAVE BEEN CHANGED TO THE FOLLOWING!!!! Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm Monday, October 3, 2022, at Knauff Funeral Home of Williston with a visitation one hour prior. Pastor Don Meadows will officiate. Burial will follow at the Orange Hill Cemetery in Williston. Knauff Funeral Home of Williston is honored to serve the Ellis family during their time of transition.
