Flossie Slaughter

Flossie Mae Gore Slaughter, 95 of Cedar Kay and Chiefland passed away surrounded by her family on September 22, 2022. She was born on October 29, 1926 in Chiefland to Norvel and Permelia Gore. Mrs. Slaughter was a Pastors wife, Mother, Grandmother, Mentor to many. She sold fish door to door, sold Avon, making many friends, as well as witnessing along the way,sharing her love for God. Her hobbies also included gardening, reading the Bible, and doing word search puzzles. She attended the Apostolic Church of Jesus Christ. She was married to William Fernando Slaughter on August 8, 1942 in Trenton Florida until his death in January 1991 and Paul Mann in 1997 in Bronsun Florida until his death in July 2007. Flossies childhood siblings were Graham Gore, NR Gore Jr., Eugenia Gore Geiger, Emma Gore McIntosh, Richie Gore, Alice Gore Matheny, Joe Gore and Leroy Gore. She is survived by her children, Sharon and John Summers of Cedar Key, William "Buddy" and Debbie Slaughter of Fanning Springs, her grandchildren Brenda Summers, Hope Slaughter Staley and Kellie Slaughter, 9 great grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and In-Laws. Graveside services will be held on Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. at Cedar Key Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Knauff Funeral Home 715 W.
