Johnny C Sims 8/14/1951 9/6/2022 Johnny C Sims of Bronson went to be with The Lord on Tuesday, September 6,2022 as the result of an automobile accident. Johnny grew up in Bronson, graduating from Bronson High School in 1969. He continued his education at the University of Florida, graduating with a degree in Civil Engineering in 1976. Johnny was the owner of Baytowne Group for 40 years, and the last 5 years he served as Public Works Director for the City of Panama City, Panama City FL. He had recently retired in December and was in process of opening a consulting office in Bronson. Johnny was preceded in death by his parents, James and Vivian Sims, his brother, Milton Sims, and his grandparents, Artice (Doc) and Claire Smith. He loved his family and enjoyed visiting and talking with friends. He never met a stranger. Johnny was a sports enthusiast, especially baseball, and loved the New York Yankees and his Florida Gators. He was a devout Christian and loved his church families at First Baptist Church of Panama City and his home church of First Baptist Church of Bronson where he was an active member. Johnny is survived by his wife of 49 years Coylene, sons Jonathan Sims and Stephen Sims, brother Henry (Annie) Sims, sister Cheryl Sims Beauchamp (Mickey), nieces Leann Sims Malphurs and Jaime Jerrels, nephews Logan Malphurs and Tyler Beauchamp. Funeral services will be held Friday, September 9,2022 at First Baptist Church of Bronson Fl. Visitation will begin at 12:00 (noon) with the funeral following at 1:00 PM. Burial will follow at the Rosemary Hill Cemetery in Bronson. Arrangements are under the care of Knauff Funeral Home in Williston. Coylean , Steven and Johnathon, I am so sorry for your loss. Johnny was a good friend for almost 40 years and I have many memories of him. He was always steadfast in his faith and beliefs and his love of his family. I will miss him. Rest in peace old friend, Hank Burney
