Barbara Dixon

Barbara Rose Dixon resident of Williston, Florida passed away on Sunday, September 18, 2022. She was 78 years old. Barbara was born in Canton, Ohio on September 14, 1944 to Carl C. Messer and Grace Elizabeth Messer. She had four brothers and two sisters, John Henry Messer (deceased), Carl C. Messer (deceased), Maryann Bishop, Robert Messer, Jerry Messer, and Patti Hughes. Barbara moved from Ohio to Miami where she worked for Home Depot for nineteen years handling hiring/staffing and opening of new stores. She was noted for opening the first Home Depot in Miami, FL. Barbara had four children with her late husband Gary T. Dixon. Daughters, Barbara Roberts, Mary Sykes, Patti Dixon and son, Gary Dixon. Grandchildren, Preston Marty Roberts, Jr., Thomas Massey Roberts, Christopher Julian Roberts and one great granddaughter MaryJane Roberts. She was a member of the Cross Word Community Church in Williston, FL, she enjoyed canning and spending time with her family. Barbara will be missed by all who new her. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, October 1st, 2022 at 11:00 AM at the Cross Word Community Church in Williston, FL. Arrangements are under the care and direction of the staff at Knauff Funeral Home of Williston.
