Obituary
Clara Linda Brown, age 88, passed away peacefully at Tri-County Nursing Home on February 16, 2026. Clara was born on June 19, 1937, in Rockcastle County, Kentucky, to James Calvert Wilson and Dora Ellen Saylor.
Clara and her family had been residents of Florida since 1972 and moved to Chiefland in 1993. She loved fishing and boating with her late husband and was an active member of the Coast Guard Auxiliary in Brooksville. Clara worked at and retired from the Chiefland Senior Center after many years, where she made many dear friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harold Culton Brown Sr.; her son, Harold Culton Brown Jr.; and her daughter, Melissa Brown Fields. She is survived by her granddaughters, Christine (John) Miron and Denice Brown; and four great-grandchildren, Charles, James, Jenna, and Richard.
Clara was friendly and caring to everyone she met. She will be missed by her family and friends.
A viewing will be held at Weems & Sons Funeral Homes in Chiefland, FL, on February 19, 2026, from 4pm-6pm. Clara will be laid to rest with her loving husband at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL.
