Obituary
James Phillip Corona, 80, of Morriston passed away at Cates Hospice House of Marion County. Jim was born in Cleveland Ohio November 20, 1941 to his parents James Vincent Corona and Victoria Eve Gonyea. Jim graduated from LaGrange High School in 1959 where he was very active in choir, ensemble drum and marching band. Jim was a member of Holy Family Catholic Church in Williston, FL where he was a member of the Knights of Columbus. Jim loved crossword puzzles, painting pictures, playing chess, the Godfather movie, spending time mowing, watching Gator football but most of all telling his stories to whoever would take the time to listen. Jim is preceded in death by his parents, James V. Corona and Eve Gonyea, Sisters Georgia Kutz, Joan Worzala, Jean Mittlesladt, and grandson Hunter Corona. Jim is survived by his loving wife of 57 years Kathleen Corona, a son James Victor (Cara) Corona of Pittsburgh Pa, a daughter Tina (Tim) Horne of Chiefland FL, a sister Dorian Rollin of Penn Valley, CA, 4 grandchildren, 5 great grandchildren, and the 6th on the way. Grave side Service will be held at Orange Hill Cemetery, 3240 NE 180 Ave, Williston, FL 32696, Saturday, July 30th 2022 at 10am. Reception immediately following at Holy Family Catholic Church 17353 NE Hwy 27A, Williston, FL 32696. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be sent to Alzheimers Association in his memory. Knauff Funeral Home of Williston is honored to serve the Corona family during their time of transition.
