David Bissell

David Robert Bissell, 42, of Old Town, FL went home to his eternal life on Friday, July 1, 2022. Son of Kent V. Bissell Sr and Mary G. Federspiel, Dave, as he was commonly known, was born on August 9, 1979 in Dunedin, FL. Growing up as a young boy in both Florida and in the hills of Cullowhee, NC, Dave came to Christ at the age of 7. After high school graduation, he furthered his education with a BS degree at Santa Fe College in Gainesville, FL and also attended the University of South Florida. He furthered his spiritual education in 2010 in Tallulah Falls, GA where he re-dedicated his to life to Christ. David enjoyed his years in auto sales, as well as spending time on the Suwannee River with his family, outdoor sports, pro & college football, four-wheeling, and motor racing like his dad. The picture above is David when he was exiting a cruise ship on a trip to celebrate his dads 50th birthday! If you saw the whole picture, you would see he is standing with a pirate! Preceding David to Glory are his paternal grandparents William & Mary Bissell, his maternal grandparents Frank & Beulah George, his father Kent V. Bissell Sr, his Uncle William Bissell Jr, and his Uncle & Aunt John & Lynda Johnson. What a day of rejoicing and reunion that was on July 1!! Still remaining in this life and celebrating Gods work in Davids heart are his mom Mary Federspiel, step-dad Russell Federspiel, step-mom Deborah Bissell, brother Kent Bissell Jr, step-sister Kristen Fitch and nephew Trysten Johnson, paternal aunts Cheryl Seaman and Connie Swindell, and material Uncles and Aunts Frank & Bobbie George, and Timothy George. His "boatload" of cousins on his paternal side includes Robbie Bissell, Kristen Schofield, Jenna Johnson, Sean & Amy Swindell, Greg Garner, Kristen Schrader, Jason & Trisha Garner, and Scott & Karen Tant. Maternal cousins include Timothy and Wendy George, Tommy and Misty George, and Jennifer George and Cloty. We close with a personized scripture that captures Davids life: "Because David has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. David shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble, I will deliver him and honor himand show him My salvation." Psalm 91:14-16 Many thanks to Haven Hospice in Chiefland, FL who so sweetly cared for David and his mom and brother at his passing. His step-mom Deborah Bissell would like to include this message about David: "Davids sweet spirit is now embracing his earthly Dad as well as his Heavenly Father, our God. I really feel Gods peace in that truth. I once heard David bellow these words every word and with great emotion. O VICTORY IN JESUS MY SAVIOR FOREVER HE SOUGHT ME AND BOUGHT ME WITH HIS REDEEMING BLOOD. HE LOVED ME ERE I KNEW HIM AND ALL MY LOVE IS DUE HIM. HE PLUNGED ME TO VICTORY BENEATH THE CLEANSING FLOOD. I now hear Daves voice singing this once again. I love that!! David loved the time he spent with his Dad in the RV on the road as well as long- engaging phone conversations about politics and military history.
