Thomas "Shorty" Head

Thomas Eugene Head “Shorty” was born on October 16, 1949 and went home to be with his Lord and Savior on February 6, 2026 at the age of 76. He passed peacefully at home with his loving family by his side.

Shorty was born in Quitman, GA, but moved to Williston, FL when he was in first grade. Williston became his home for the rest of his life. He was a devout Christian and a long-time member of the First Baptist Church in Williston. He was a devoted family man and a friend to many.

He worked for the United States Postal Service from which he retired after forty plus years of service. Shorty was well known as an avid hunter and fisherman. He enjoyed these outdoor activities with his sons, grandsons and friends. He loved spending time with family whether it was in the woods, on holidays or any family gathering.

Shorty is survived by his wife, Debbie; his two sons, Jason Head (Candice) and Justin Head (Crystal); his grandchildren, Kayla McCormic, Cody Head (Jessica), Faith Costello (William), Logan Head, Blake Marra and Emma Head; and his brother, Robert Head (Mora Lee). In addition, he is survived by his four dearly loved great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Leroy and Pauline Head; brothers, Leroy Head, Jr., Kenny Head and Billy Head; and sister, Joyce Arnold.

His service will be held at The First Baptist Church in Williston, FL on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, with visitation at 10:00 AM immediately followed by his service at 11:00 AM. Pastor Jason Owenby will officiate. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you please consider donations to the Baptist Children's Fund or a charity of your choice.
