Yolanda Reveron-Cruz

Yolanda Revern Crz was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico on July 25, 1948. She was the oldest of 4 brothers, ngel, Francisco and Felipe. Hence her quick, decisive, and effective decision-making. Her determined leadership put her on a constant collision course with her partners. Her mother was Berta Crz and her father was Francisco Revern. She graduated from the Lino Padrn Rivera Highschool at Vega Baja PR in May 1966 from the regular curriculum. That same year she married mi father Manuel Soto Martnez and moved to live with the grandmother's house, Doa Luisa Soto, at Amadeo's plots in Vega Baja. There they acquired a plot of 1 acre, when they built their wooden house where I Javier was born in 1968. Two years later, 1970, my sister Vanessa was born. The 1970's was a time of industrialization and thanks to section 936 of the Congress, hundreds of hand-made and textile factories moved to Puerto Rico, including "Playtex", "Fruit of the Loom", and "Hanes"; in all Yolanda worked. After a difficult divorce in 1972, Yolanda met Pedro Prez, whom she married, and they fathered my sister Cathy. In 1983, while working at the Motorola beeper factory, she married the accountant manager Teodoro Roln twice. It was in the textile invoice hand where Yolanda acquires her love for sewing and the needle. On May 15, 1982, Yolanda finished a degree in Pattern Making and Haute Couture with designer Carlota Alfaro. Two months later, on July 17, 1982, Yolanda finished the Design Course. One of my great satisfactions was that Yolanda designed and made my first wife's wedding dress. From an early age, Yolanda had to take care of her siblings and take charge of her home as her older sister. Her zodiacal sign was Leo and so Yolanda affirmed that she fought "Like a cat facing up". Her main quality was a tireless and tenacious fighter. Since I was 15 years old, Yolanda was the one who motivated me to start a Military Career; and I don't know wrong. From my beginnings in the Civil Area Patrol to my last foray into Iraq Yolanda was always there, inspiring me, supporting me and in her way taking care of me. As only a mother can. During the war of Iraq, I was awarded the Meritorious Service Medal (MSM) a military award presented to members of the Armed Forces who distinguished themselves by meritorious and outstanding achievement. I wouldnt done it without my mom. That is why today I honored her with this symbolic award, she was the beacon that guided me my entire live. My daughter Jessica said to me: Dad...remember that you never lose the people you love the most, you gained a guardian angel in the heavens. Grandmom will always be by your side. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at the Knauff Funeral Home, Williston Chapel from 12-7 PM. A funeral ceremony will take place at 7PM with Pastor Emilda Gonzalez officiating.
