Obituary
Elizabeth Neil Cason was born in Ocala, Florida in 1935 to Vernon and Winona Neil. She moved to her heavenly home on Valentine's Day 2026.
Elizabeth had many cherished memories of growing up on Neil's Pond in the Fellowship, Florida community of Marion county.
She attended elementary school at Fellowship school, Ocala Junior and Senior High, Ocala, Florida, Forest Lake Academy, Orlando, Florida, Southern Missionary College, Collegedale, Tennessee and Marion Vocational School, Ocala, Florida—becoming a cosmetologist.
Elizabeth's first job as a beautician was at Dena's for Beauty in Gainesville, Florida. It was during this time in her life that she met and married Al Arrington. She moved to Chiefland enjoying their new life together. Much time was spent on the Suwannee River in their houseboat, fishing and skiing. Al was tragically taken in an air boat accident after 2 years of marriage. Going on with her life, she opened and operated Liz's Beauty Shop, making many women's hair beautiful in Chiefland. Meeting and marrying a county boy, Ronald Cason, her life moved on. They would eventually have 3 children, Rhonda, Susan and Kevin, the loves of her life. Ronald and Elizabeth went on to found Long Pond Baptist Church and WTBH Radio. Elizabeth was the church pianist, taught Sunday school and loved being a pastor's wife. She served her church family with love and dedication.
Elizabeth is preceded in death by her parents, Vernon and Winona Neil, first husband, Al Arrington, second husband, Ronald Cason, in-law's, Call and Beatrice Cason, Uncle's Pat and Bill Neil, brother, Bud Neil and sister in law, Barbara Neil.
She is survived by daughter, Rhonda Cook (Chuck), daughter, Susan Hallman (Mike), son, Kevin Cason (Michelle). Grandchildren who called her Ging Ging, Kyle Cook (Jamie), Dustin Cason (Kaloa), Kasidy Cothron, Lang Cason (Chloe), Levi Cason (Megan). Great-grandchildren, Jase, Kane, Kaci Rae, Lilynne, Jordynne, Madilynne, Dallas, Broox, Gage, Peyton, Caleb, Cason, Coy and Elliot. Cousins, Darlene Cason and Carol Jones. Neices, Sherry McElroy, Calla Neil, Beth Reed and nephew, Joe Neil (Donica) and her church family.
A funeral service to honor Elizabeth's life will be held at 11am on Saturday, February 21, 2026 at the First Baptist Church of Chiefland. Brother Chuck Cook will officiate the service and burial will follow at the Long Pond Baptist Church Cemetery in Chiefland.
