Obituary
Mildred Marie Wyche Shirley, resident of Micanopy, Florida, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 4, 2022 surrounded by her family. She was 88. Mildred was born on July 30, 1933 in Shiloh, Florida to parents, Alexander James Wyche and Verna Mae Brown Wyche. She spent her lifetime in this area and was a member of Flemington Baptist Church. Mildred had a passion for life and enjoyed many activities like playing the piano, organ, listening to music, reading a good book and singing in the church choir. She spent many days with her husband Bob, working in their yard and watching the birds. She and Bob made many memories while traveling the United States especially traveling out west. While Mildred enjoyed many things, nothing came close to the time spent with her family, she was an excellent cook and prepared many meals for them. Mildred is survived by her husband, Robert "Bob" Shirley, daughters, Pamela Shirley Beasley, Cathy Michelle Shirley and sister, Carolyn Senne. She is also survived by her 5 grandchildren and 18 great grandchildren. Mildred is predeceased by her daughter Debra Shirley Choate and sister Patricia Wyche Carter. A graveside to honor the life of Mildred will be held on Saturday, May 7, 2022 at the Shiloh United Methodist Church Cemetery in Shiloh, Florida. The service begins at 10:00 AM with Brother Jerry Philman officiating. Knauff Funeral Home of Williston is honored to serve the Shirley family during their time of transition.
