Obituary
Nathaniel James Elmond Singleton, 29, of Old Town, Florida, went on to be with the Lord on April 11, 2022, after a vehicle accident. Nathan, born on October 24, 1992, in Gainesville, Florida, was a lifelong resident of Dixie County, Florida. After graduating from Dixie County High School in 2011, Nathan began his career in Law Enforcement by starting his employment at the Dixie County Jail as a Corrections Officer on January 25, 2012, upon attaining the age and dual certification, Nathan then transferred on June 16, 2014, into Law Enforcement as a Deputy with the Dixie County Sheriffs Office. At the time of his death, Nate utilized his passion and drive as a Law Enforcement Officer attaining the position of K-9 Sergeant for the DCSO, as well as working as a team player with the North Star Multijurisdictional Task Force. When he wasnt on the job, assisting and protecting others, he enjoyed spending time with the love of his life, Hailey, playing with his niece and nephew, fishing, golfing, and hunting with his buddies. Nathan is survived by his mother, Robin Jocelyn (Roy) of Cedar Key, sister, Jessica Geffre (Adam) of Japan, grandfather, Jimmy Singleton (Delores) of St. Pete, fiance, Hailey Carroll of Old Town, and niece Jamie and nephew Tristan, both of Japan, working K-9 partner Link, half-sister, Lindsey Williams, and step siblings, John, Stevie, and Brandy. Nathan was preceded in death by his father, Jeffery Elmond Singleton. The family will have calling hours at the First Baptist Church of Cross City from 11:00AM-1:00PM on April 21, 2022, followed by Nates Celebration of Life at 1:00PM. Hey Nate. I remember when I first came to work at Dixie. You were the first one to herlp me decipher the messed up roads, and you always made sure I was doing things right. We worked hard together, we were promoted together, and saw a new Sheriff take office together. The last time I spoke with you was on a traffic stop of a man riding a wheeler with an infant strapped to his chest. You educated him, wrote him a citation, and released him. That was it. I told you, "I'll see you later Nate", which never came. I hope you found your way to our Lord and are rejoicing to be with him. I love you brother. God speed, Nate!
