Mary McCormick

Mary "Madalyn" McCormick was born in Bell, Florida on July 3, 1935. Mary was received into Glory at the Haven Hospice in Chiefland with family by her side on March 30, 2022. Ms. McCormick was a member of Hardeetown Baptist Church and was instrumental in founding the Levy Association for Retarded Citizens, better known as LARC and special needs classes in Chiefland High School. Mary enjoyed gardening & working in the yard and She loved being with her family, children, grandchildren & Great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, Oscar Lee Polk and Mother, Abbie Kathryn Philman, husband Duncan Ellis McCormick, brother, Donald Lee Polk, sister, Bertha May Corley, and infant daughter, Mary McCormick. Loving family she leaves behind two daughters, Sandra McCormick of Trenton, Florida, Wanda Langston (Rob) of Trenton, Florida, brother, Jerry Lee Trail of Mayo, Florida, sister, Carolyn Lane of Chiefland, Florida, 1 granddaughter Cheryl Barron (Kenny) of Chiefland, Florida. Grandson Wesley Langston (Tiffany) of Chiefland, & 8 great grandchildren, Madalyn Barron, Tyler Barron, Jessie Langston, Gracie Langston, Sidney Langston, Abbie and Ella Stemple and Skyler Byrd. Graveside services will be held Saturday, April 2, 2022 at the Mount Horeb Baptist Cemetery at 11:00 am. The family will be having a gathering and sharing time prior to the service from 10-11. Reverend Travis Hudson will be officiating. Family requests in lieu of flowers, donations to Haven Hospice, Tri-County be made in her name.
