Kenneth Hudson

Kenneth Rodney Hudson, 92, of Trenton Florida passed away Friday February 25 at home surrounded by his family. Born on September 10, 1929 in Falconer, he was the son of the late Lois M (Dye), and Kenneth J Hudson. He was a 1947 graduate of Falconer High School, and is a veteran of the US Army, serving abroad during the Korean War 1950-1952, returning with a Purple Heart. He was a member of the "Chadakoin 5" (sometimes 6) performing Dixieland Jazz in the Jamestown area in the 1960s. He was a master mechanic and owner of Rod Hudsons Garage of Falconer for approximately 25 years, including a FIAT dealership, as well as Scorpion snowmobiles, before turning his talents to restoring antique automobiles. After moving to Trenton, FL, he continued restoring many antique cars, mostly Hudson's. He developed a system for re-corking the clutch discs used in the Hudson vehicles. He was a member of the Florida Chapter of the Hudson, Essex, Terraplane Club, The National Model Railroad Association, The Erie-Lackawanna Historical Society, and a past member of the Early Ford V8 Club. He was also a member of the Waccasassa Volunteer Fire Department for a number of years. Surviving is his wife of 40 years, Naomi J. (Hinman) Hudson, a daughter, Amy Hudson and grandson Daniel Cardinale of Jamestown, Grand-daughter (Kenneth Brian Hudson) Erika (Cory) Phillips Blake of Warren PA, step-children Lynne Hinman (Richard Menke) of Williamsville, Janet (Don)McElwain of Randolph, Kenneth Hinman of Syracuse, Brian Hinman of Steamburg, David (Beth)Hinman of Novi, Michigan, seven step-grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren as well as several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews in Florida, New York, and Arizona. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lois M (Dye) Hudson who died January 11, 2004, Kenneth J. Hudson who died July 14, 1989, a sister Diane Maltz who died November 8, 2019, a son, Kenneth Brian Hudson, who died December 4, 2019, his former wife Gretchen J Hudson who died November 17, 2020 and a step-daughter-in-law, Susan Hall who died Sept. 6, 2008. No funeral will be observed, burial will take place in Falconer at the convenience of the family. Memorials may be sent to Doctors Without Borders.
