Marlene Munn

Frances Marlene Munn, 76, of Levy County passed away peacefully at Haven Hospice in Chiefland on February 3, 2022, after a brief illness. Born January 22, 1946 in Gainesville, FL at Alachua General Hospital. Marlene was raised in Levy County and then moved to Gainesville when she started her work career. She later returned to Levy County to care for her mother. Marlene is survived by her sister Zelma King, Sr (Doug) of Augusta, GA, nephew Doug King, Jr (Kim) of Augusta, GA, niece Diane McGaugh (Jayson) of Ft Smith, AR, great-nephew Jayson McGaugh of Ft Smith, AK, and great-nephew Clint King of Augusta, GA. She is also survived by many cousins who loved her dearly and she loved in return. Marlene never had children, however she loved all the children in the family like her own. Proceeded in death by her parents, Johnnie and Glady Bennett Munn. Marlene graduated from Bronson High School in 1964, and was crowed Homecoming Queen the same year. She worked her whole life in the banking industry and finished her career at Sunstate Federal Credit Union as a Bank Officer from October 1984 through February 29, 2008; retiring after 23 years of service. Marlene was an avid Gator Fan and Booster, holding Gator Football season tickets for many years. Her favorite part of game day was tailgating with family and friends, enjoying ribs and chicken wings until kick off. Marlene never wanted to leave a game early, regardless of the outcome. She also enjoyed word puzzles. Marlene had a love for little dogs. She had several over her adult years.Goldie, Rocky, Heidi, and currently little Timmy. She treated her little fur-babies like her children and they brought her so much joy and companionship. Graveside services will be held Monday, February 7, 2022 at 10:00 AM located at Ebenezer Baptist Church in Chiefland, FL.
