Obituary
Yolanda Lynn Gaines was born in Joliet, Illinois on September 13, 1952. In 1989, Yolanda and her husband George Petrucz, relocated from South Florida to Williston, Florida. Yolanda loved this area, and enjoyed living on her 20 acre farm. She worked at Performance Food Group in Gainesville, where she was a dispatcher for food deliveries. Yolanda loved animals, and it would not be unusual for a guest to be seated next to a blind squirrel, or shown adopted baby possums in a bedroom. She was dedicated to animal rescue, and supported many animal welfare organizations. She was an honest, forthright person, and a good friend. She was a Christian and attended Rafter Cross Cowboy Church in Williston. Yolanda suffered with Alzheimers disease for many years and is now resting peacefully in the arms of the Lord. We will miss her very much. Knauff Funeral Home of Williston is honored to serve the Gaines family during their time of transition.

Yolanda was a one of a kind friend. I met her in 1989 and we had lots of fun together at horse and dog shows. I will miss her sarcasm and dry sense of humor. RIP Yo. Tell Vickie I said Hey.
