Obituary
Coy L. Durrance passed away peacefully at his home on January 11, 2022, at age 87, in Ocala, Born on March 1, 1934, in Chiefland, Florida, he was the son of the late William Durrance and Myrtle Hardee Durrance. He was the youngest brother of Guy, Roy, Susan, Sallie Sehl, Pat Rowell, Tom, Sim and Sue Garvin. Coy married Patsy Brownlee on August 5, 1955, in Bronson, Florida. Patsy predeceased him on January 11, 2010, after 54 years of marriage. Coy passed away 12 years to the day after Patsy. The family likes to think she came to get him when it was his time. Coy was a devoted father to children Cindy Sullivan and her husband Richard, Karen Durrance and Kevin Durrance. He was the beloved PaPa to his grandchildren Robert Sullivan, S.K. Lloyd and Wes Lloyd. In 2012, Coy moved to Ocala, Florida, to live with his companion, Mrs. Ouida Cobb Cash. Coy, Patsy and Ouida were friends since high school. Patsy was the maid of honor when Ouida and Jack Cash were wed in 1955. Coy and Ouida enjoyed 10 years together. He gladly expanded his grandfather duties with her grandchildren, Michael and Tammy Cash, Ashlea Cash, and great-grandchildren, Tristan, Taylor, Leon, Leilah, and Keith. Coy was a devout Christian and lived most of his life in Florida and Georgia. He was a friend, beloved uncle and cousin to many. He was an avid gardener, hunter and, late in life, a baker. A mechanic by trade, Coy could fix most anything from a lawnmower to large road construction equipment. Generous of spirit, Coy was there for those in need. Be at peace now. You are missed. Coy was a gentle and kind man . Always had a joke for us. We really enjoyed his friendship with us both.He will certainly be missed . We looked forward to our visits with Coy and Ouida.

I met Coy when he moved to Ocala and became my neighbor. He was a kind and generous man who never let me leave empty-handed when I visited him and Ouida. Some of his delicious baked desserts or fresh vegetables from his garden were always appreciated. He is missed by all who knew him.

When Coy and Patsy married, two older brothers wired a cow bell underneath his car. Years later, he told me that bell was one of his prized possessions!<br>Coy and Patsy were always very special to me. In recent years, Coy could answer all my geneology questions with ease. I will miss him very much!
