John Finch

John Windfield Finch, age 62, passed away at his home in Yankeetown, Florida on Monday, October 18, 2021. John is survived by his mother Jeanetta Finch, three children, Captain Brandi Jewell of Belleville, Illinois, Petty Officer First Class John Jacob Finch and his spouse Amanda of Norfolk, Virginia and George Furbaby Finch of Yankeetown, Florida and his favorite granddaughter Dakota Mason. He is preceded in death by his father Chief Petty Officer (Retired) Herschel Lee Finch Jr. and brother Herschel Lee Finch III. John Windfield Finch was born April 19, 1959, in Bellflower, California. Despite living years in the city, John was a country boy at heart. He loved the outdoors, southern cooking, and was an avid fisherman. John was a creative genius whose career highlights included working on movie sets in California. He was an amazing handy man. Over the years, John leant his skills to people in need and churches. He is most known for his generous heart. In 2020 John made his way to Yankeetown. John loved the small town, the fishing, and the people that live there. He was truly in his element. A Celebration of Life will be held at the Blackwater restaurant on November 6th, 2021 at 5:00 pm. Knauff Funeral Home is honored to serve the Finch family during their time of transition.
