Alice Marie Dyess, of Morriston, FL passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2026 , at the age of 88. Alice was born on March 19, 1937 to Robert F. Roddenberry and Rosa Lee Roddenberry. Alice was a devoted homemaker who dedicated her life to her family, serving as their steadfast anchor.
Alice was preceded in death by her husband, George "Billy" Dyess Jr.; her sons, Billy Frankland "Frankie" Dyess and John David Dyess; her grandson, Henry Leo Dyess Jr; her great-grandson, Craig Robert Dyess; her parents Robert F. Roddenberry and Rosa Lee Roddenberry, and six brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her sons, Henry Leo Dyess and James Wesley Dyess, both of Morriston; her sister, Fay Roddenberry of Crystal River; her brother Robert Roddenberry of Ocala; her grandchildren, Steven Harriett (Charlotte), Jennifer Blackburn (Ricky), Tammy Dyess, Jason Dyess (Amy), Robert Dyess (Katie), Amanda Cash (Michael), Ricky Dyess, and Aaron Dyess; as well as, 16 great-grandchildren, several great-great grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A funeral service will be held at Weems and Sons Funeral Home in Williston on Saturday, February 14th, 2026 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. . Brother Jerry Philman will officiate. Burial will follow at Cherry Hill Cemetery in Morriston FL.
