John William Kelly Obituary John William Kelly of Bronson, FL, passed away in his home on Monday, October 12th, 2021. He was 64 years old. John was born on March 8th, 1957 to the late William and Helen Kelly and was predeceased by his wife Anne (Kotmel) Kelly. He leaves behind two sisters; Susan (Kenneth) Scharke, Karen (Ed) Schumacher, brother David (Lori) Kelly, and an Aunt Esther Mitchell. He also leaves behind many cousins, nieces, nephews, and countless brothers and sisters across the country from his time in Emergency Services. Hard work was something embedded in John early in life, having started working in his Dads business (Kellys Carpet) at a young age. He even inherited his sense of punctuality from his father, having often been told that a job started an hour earlier (just so that hed make it on time). When he wasnt installing carpet, John enjoyed spending time with his family and working on his race car. John found his true calling in life when he began his career in Emergency Services, where he worked as a firefighter, paramedic, and trainer for numerous departments across the country. To quote one colleague best: "John Kelly is responsible for thousands and thousands of lives saved over his career, both by directly treating patients but also by teaching thousands of first responders all across the country." And another: "Go in peace, John well take it from here." A Celebration of Life will be held at 3pm on Sunday, October 17th, 2021 at the First Baptist Church of Chiefland (511 N Young Blvd, Chiefland, FL). John will be laid to rest alongside his family at the Lansingville Cemetery in Lansing, NY on a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations are requested to the newly-established John Kelly Memorial Scholarship on GoFundMe - (https://gofund.me/52268989). This scholarship will be used to continue his legacy as a contribution towards a students EMS education.
