Kelly Jerrels, Sr.

Kelly Maxwell Jerrels, Sr. was born on September 16, 1958 in Gainesville, Florida. He was raised in Bronson, Florida and spent over half of his life in Romeo, Florida. He died on Sunday, September 5, 2021 in Gainesville, Florida at the age of 62, surrounded by loved ones. He is preceded in death by his parents Rubin Jerrels Jr, and Geneva Jerrels and his brother Lint Jerrels. He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Debbie Jerrels, his sister Susie Robinson and brothers Rubin Jerrels III and Benny Jerrels, his sons Brian and Kelly Jerrels and daughters Candice Head and Megan Roberts, and 29 grand and great grandchildren. Kelly spent over 39 years working with the Levy County Road Department and 26 of those years as the Road Superintendent. He developed personal relationships with his coworkers where they became family. He enjoyed showing off his cooking skills and fellowshipping with his coworkers even after his retirement. He graduated from Bronson High School in 1976 where he attended school his whole life. In his spare time, you could find Kelly on an airboat fishing, in the woods hunting, barbecuing on the grill, or most importantly on the sidelines cheering on one of his many grand babies at a sporting event. He and Debbie spent lots of time on the road finding new adventures. From trips to the beach, up to the mountains and many places in between. They sure kept the roads hot. Kelly wasnt a man of many words. Oftentimes he kept things short and sweet but one thing is for certain, you knew where you stood with him. You knew you were loved and how much he cared. He had a love for his family and he loved God. We know without a shadow of a doubt he is rejoicing with his brother and parents in the sight of the Lord.
