Jackson Watkins

Jackson J Watkins, age 72 of Gulf Hammock, Florida passed away September 4, 2021 at the VA Hospital. He graduated from Gainesville High School in 1968 and served in both the Air Force and Army. He retired from the University of Florida. Jackson is survived by his mom, Betty Kay Watkins, 87; his children, Beth Godwin, 51 (Michael Godwin), Jason Watkins, 42 (Mandy Watkins), Leah Watkins, 40, and Benjamin Watkins, 39 (Suzy Wetzel), Siblings; Eugene Watkins, Ricky Watkins, and Karen Blalock. He has 10 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his father, Jack Watkins and his wife, Deanna Watkins. Jackson was a devoted father, grandpa, son, brother, and friend. He loved the outdoors, hunting, fishing, gardening, and lived his life always putting others before himself. Anyone who knows Jackson knows that he was a selfless man that would do anything for anyone. Family and friends are invited to gather at Henry Beck Park in Gulf Hammock (4351 SE CR 326) for a celebration of life on Sunday, September 12, 2021 at 11:00am. Due to the serious nature of COVID, the family asks that if you are experiencing any symptoms, have been exposed, or know that you are not well, that you please refrain from attending.
