Obituary

Wilma Booth Daniel

“Queen of Cedar Key”

Wilma Daniel, 84, was born in her grandparents home on the island of Cedar Key, in the neighborhood of  Kiss-Me-Quick, on December 16, 1941. She graduated from Cedar Key High School in 1959. She married George Daniel and together had three sons Ken (Christine), Keith and Kevin (Angela), a total of 7 Grandchildren, 13 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her father, William Willis “Bill” Booth, her mother, Ruth Morgan Booth and brothers Harold Richard “Ricky” Booth and William Wesley “Buster” Booth. She was unofficially named  “The Queen of Cedar Key” by a family member’s young child while waiting out a storm. She peacefully and officially received her crown, Saturday, June 6, 2026.

She retired after 30 years with the Levy County Tax Collectors office. After retirement she continued her other 3 full time jobs, Ken, Keith and Kevin. Her greatest enjoyment was her family and titles of Nana and Queen. She especially loved her legendary Christmas parties where she had her family together all at once.

Services will be held at the Cedar Key First Baptist Church, on Friday, June 12, 2026, at 11:00am, with her son Keith officiating the service. Interment will take place at a later date in the Cedar Key Cemetery. It is requested due to the young ages of some grand children, if you have a special memory with Wilma, please drop a note in the box that will be provided so the little one’s will know the Nana we knew. She was the one to give me my driving test to get my license. I didn't know her well, but knew of her from my family, who spoke highly of her. May she rest in peace, and the Pitts family sends their sincere condolences.
