Kevin Knott

I recall Kevin's love of music. He recorded many songs for me on cassette to listen to while I was away. I recall crashing at Kevin and Peggy's place after an evening at The Colony. Kevin played music and we all danced, laughed and enjoyed the hospitality. When I received the news about Kevin I immediately recalled when he began courting my sister, the relationship, the joy and happiness they brought to each other and shared with thier children. The memory of a song Kevin recorded came to my mind and I thought. Ofcourse! It was "Let My Love Open The Door" by Pete Townsend and it summed up everything i saw in Kevin. Beginning with his pursuit for my sister's hand. His easy going and gracious demeanor. Unassuming and open hearted personality. The way he loved to dance! Circling my sister on the dance floor. Keeping the beat. Owning it! The two of them dancing as if they were the only two people in the world and he carefully stepping, stomping, jamin....and gazing at her as if she were the only woman in the world. I'll miss you Kev but thank you. Thank you for showing me that love can open doors. God bless you.

I recall when working with coastal oil, we got off the ship port in manatee and rented a car to drove over to see Peggy, Kevin and family. At that time they were in a house near Disney/Orlando. Big Kevin was working a movie set. So Peggy myself and Kevin Jr. ( 12 years old), went to Hooters for his birthday. The Hooters girls found out it was Kevin Jr. Birthday so they started hugging and paying attention to him. I remember his glasses fogged up from all the steam coming out of his ears. Face bright red flush. Peggy was laughing when he said " Hey I got an idea, I'm gonna tell my friend to bring his dad and I'll bring my dad, and we'll have a father son day meal at Hooters.
